The recent 3.8% drop in Asahi India Glass Limited's (NSE:ASAHIINDIA) stock could come as a blow to insiders who purchased ₹43m worth of stock at an average buy price of ₹551 over the past 12 months. Insiders purchase with the hope of seeing their investments increase in value over time. However, due to recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth ₹38m, which is not great.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing. Airtight Glass Jars

That means that even when the share price was higher than ₹492 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels. We note that Brij Labroo was both the biggest buyer and the biggest seller.
